Graduation 2019

On 26 June, the group’s third Ph.D. candidate officially became Dr Nicolas Marro!

It was a pleasure to be there to see Nicolas receive his degree and to meet the Marro family. Despite Euan’s Italian skills being non-existent, everyone seemed to be enjoying their visit to St Andrews.

Congratulations Dr Marro!

Very well done to our newest Ph.D. – Dr Nicolas Marro, who passed his viva on Friday 16 November.

Thanks to David Fulton (Newcastle) for giving his time and expertise as external examiner. Hopefully Nicolas is not quite packing his bags yet – lots of papers to write first!

Postgraduate Symposium 2017

Edward, Guillaume (posters) and Nicolas (talk) all gave great presentations at the annual St Andrews Postgraduate symposium on 5–6 December.

Particular congratulations to Nicolas on winning one of the runners-up prizes for his talk Complementary Dynamic Covalent Nanoparticle Building Blocks. Well deserved!

Our three representatives in 2017: Edward, Nicolas and Guillaume

Oral presentations runners up: Stefania Musolino (Taylor & Smith groups), Nicolas, and Samantha Russell (Morris group)

MASC 2015

At the end of December, Euan, Nicolas and Will enjoyed two days of great science at the annual RSC Macrocyclic and Supramolecular Chemistry conference, expertly hosted by colleagues in Durham. Will presented a poster titled Dynamic Covalent Tuning of Nanoparticle Properties, and Nicolas presented his work on Complementary Dynamic Covalent Nanoparticle Building Blocks. As always, it was a great way to end the year!
