Makoto Fujita visits St Andrews

On Friday 19 May – Saturday 20 May the School of Chemistry welcomed Prof. Makoto Fujita (University of Tokyo) as an EaStChem Colloquium speaker. As well as delivering an inspirational lecture on Friday, spanning metallosupramolecular chemistry, self-assembly, and the remarkable crystalline sponge method, Prof. Fujita was kind enough to spend some time with the Zysman-Colman and Kay groups on Saturday. After a short scientific symposium, we enjoyed some traditional Scottish fish and chips. Unfortunately the weather was not kind for Prof. Fujita’s visit, but we’re sure he had an authentic Scottish experience!

Thanks to Diego from the Zysman-Colman group for organizing a fun day!
